Flying Cars, Are you serious?

When Dr. Paul Moller founded Moller Institute in 1983, the idea of a flying car remained in the realm of fantasy and science fiction enthusiasts. Dream today, Dr. Moller passenger using Heaven has moved from imagination to the earliest stages of reality. Today Moller Institute, through Freedom Motors (formed by Moller) has produced the MX-400, sky futuristic-looking car that can take off vertically and get speeds of 350 mph. Its engine is lightweight, which produce fewer emissions than conventional engines, but is a downside ... is only getting 15 miles per gallon.

Flying Cars to be competitive

The Moller Sky car is not the only car flying production. The flying cars or personal air vehicle (PAV) are vehicles that maneuver personnel on the road and in the sky. In addition to the Moller Sky Car is at least four other developing VAP. The transition from Terrafugia Inc, the Skyblazer Aero Aero Haynes Haynes, CBF-1 by Labiche Aerospace, the Magic Dragon, by StrongMobile, and the Moller M400 Skycar by Moller International is changing the face of the vehicle transport industry.

This change moves the concept and potential has long been held by the military only to "automobile manufacturers." The implication of these projects are many and may well complicate transport industry, urban planning, and aviation in the coming years.

Flying Vertically

Not all Future Cars flight use of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) technology, but it sure has made it stand out from the crowd. This innovation allows PAV to lift the foot instead of taking off, so it is more like a heli-car than a flying car.

VTOL has been in use by the U.S. Army for some time, especially in the form of the Harrier jet. What is remarkable is that both the Moller sky car X-Hawk and use this same technology in his driveway for vehicles. There are some drawbacks to VTOL, such as price, but the advantages of VTOL hover-car technology are obvious, does not need runways. It recalls the now famous line Doc Brown tells Marty at the end of Back to the Future: "Roads?" Where we go, we do not need roads. "

The future is in heaven

Since the society moved to motorized travel, the sky has been the last frontier of personal travel. It is natural that as technology advances, car designs will be developed that incorporate and fusion of ideas and dreams we hold within.

With increased movement towards creating the next generation of vehicles, the sky is the most likely target. Moller for Labiche Aerospace, the intense energy has begun to in lifting the average person in the sky. If the future of flying cars will be used for commuting or recreation, the possibilities are endless. With profound implications for society and the environment, effects on the flying car are just beginning to feel.
