New Dodge Colorado
Grand Canyon, Taos, Oklahoma Panhandle in late December?
Thinking of one-to-10 days of winter camping holiday in July in northern Arizona and New Mexico reaching so in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico all come together, more or less. We have winter clothes for a camping car (Dodge van). No 4WD, no snow tires. Would that be okay? What kind of altitudes, temperatures and snow conditions can we find? In addition, many camps are seasonal. Will we have difficulty finding places to launch a tent?
All I know is on the Panhandle. I'm not sure about campsites, but I can tell you that it gets very cold in the Panhandle in the winter ... probably will not get a lot of snow ... but the wind is very strong ... usually about 20-30 beats ... gusts up to 60 or 70 and it's cold.
