What kind of MPG do 2007 Dodge Ram Mega Cab Success?

Have a HEMI V8 engine of 5.7 liters. He bought a few weeks ago. So far was seen between 13.5 to 14 MPG. This is not my daily driver, however, earned only a tank and a half so far. Top This was 87 octane. 89 octane is worth the additional price?
